All too often I consult in person with a child care center and find the tour is stale. While the director is doing a great job communicating and building a good rapport with the potential family I see room for improvement.
I think it is worth the 30 minutes to sit down and write a list of what you want to showcase on tours at your child care center. When we do this it creates a process. A process we can look to to refresh our thoughts on “oh yea, I want to make sure I point out the nature component we just added” or “oh yea, I want to end the tour at the security sysytem at the front door.” Tours just become a thing we do and we skim through them.
Creating a tour checklist will help you evaluate the tour, allow you to assign it to someone else who will have a roadmap of exactly what you want, and give you a refresher of what to talk about.

If you just don’t have the time to create a tour checklist, on your ride home from the center tonight take a listen to this podcast, it will find you 60 hours AND change your life!
