What is your Child Care Centers COVID-19 Business As Unusual Plan?

DC Facebook Squares (16)

What is your plan for returning to operating your Center amidst the Covid-19 environment?

Having a plan anytime in your business is a good idea, it’s even more important as we begin to operate our Centers in the midst of this health crisis.  We need to not only be thinking of the requirements from the State we operate in, but also all of our key stakeholders in the Center.   The financial needs, the Teachers, Parents and most importantly, our students.

Coming back could feel overwhelming with everything you need to think of.   Join me in making a To Do list, for some this could be daunting for others you will be jumping for joy checking things off!

The best way to begin developing a well thought out plan is coming up with a list of To-Do by category.   I will start with a brain dump, I’ll just sit there with pen to paper and write up a list of everything I need to do.

Next, I will categorize the list and create a master punch list of what needs to be done.   Each time you get something done, check it off.

After my list is done, I compare it to a calendar to ensure that I am working on the tasks that should be done first, or that may take the longest.

Here is a start, read each item on the list below and see what sparks you to add something to your To Do list.    Then, sort then sort your list by category, determine what needs to be done by date, and you have a well thought out plan.

  • Budget
  • Business Partners
  • Cleaning
  • Curriculum
  • Enrollment
  • Facilities
  • Health Plan
  • Illness Policy
  • Legal
  • Licensing Requirements
  • Marketing
  • Parent Communication
  • PPE Suppliers
  • Safety Policies
  • State Requirements
  • Signage
  • Teachers
  • Training

Other things I’m doing is researching as I’m making my plan and connecting with other people in my field.   I find it helpful to google things, in case someone else has something on a list that I didn’t think of and maybe I should be thinking of it.
